Lal Singh reviews functioning of hospitals in Kashmir division

Says District Hospital Bandipora to get latest diagnostic equipment, allied facilities

Minister for Health & Medical Education Ch. Lal Singh chaired a high level meeting of officers to review the functioning of health institutions of Kashmir Division. Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare Ms. Asiya Naqash was also present in the meeting.Addressing the meeting, the Minister asked the medical fraternity to provide better medicare to patients within the available resources.  He said that Emergency, Out Patient Department (OPD) and In- Patient Department (IPD) in these hospitals would be strengthened by deploying adequate manpower and keeping life saving drugs available to meet any exigency. He said that CCTV would also be installed to monitor the functioning of the institutions.

Directing the Chief Medical Officers to submit report of hospital functioning on monthly basis, Ch. Lal Singh said that failure in this regard would be dealt strictly under rule. He also directed ensuring punctuality and maintaining roster duty in the health institutions for the convenience of the patients.

 The Minister asked the concerned for putting in place all possible arrangements for the ensuing Shri Amarnath Yatra so that the yatries do not face any inconvenience. “Make efforts to put in place all possible arrangements to meet any eventuality during the Yatra”, he maintained. Earlier, the Minister also chaired a meeting to review the functioning of health institutions of Bandipora district.  He took stock of the health services being extended to the patients in health institutions of the district.Commissioner Secretary, Health and Medical Education, Director General, ISM, Director Health Services Kashmir, Director Family Welfare, besides CMOs, BMOs  attended the meeting.
