Terming 100 days of PDP-BJP Government as a period of ‘despair, discontentment and disillusionment’, National Conference Tuesday observed that the coalition is finding itself in a state of bewilderment as to what all is there to make noise about as the performance during the first hundred days of government has been dismal.“People usually talk of government deficit and in this case there is nothing like governance it is a vacuum where it feels that the government does not exists at all,” said Provincial President NC, Devender Singh Rana while addressing a series of public meetings at Kanna Chadgal and Badsoo in Nagrota Assembly Constituency here today.

He claimed the people are dejected and dismayed over disruption in peace and development, which had been heralded by putting in hard toil by the Omar led government during the past six years with active mass cooperation. “The people had been breathing in an atmosphere of peace and reaping benefits of development”, he said, adding that the scenario is quite different now. Peace stands threatened in the both the divisions of Kashmir and Jammu while there seems a sort of moratorium on development, he maintained.Rana questioned the efficacy of making country wide trips and creating hype over tourism, when a message about disturbed situation has already damped the enthusiasm of nature lovers. He said those associated with tourism trade have been hit badly and there appears to be a little prospect of it gaining momentum in near future due to several obvious factors.  “Similar is the case with development, which has suffered immensely due to inherent contradictions between the coalition partners that has left the administration in deep inertia”, he said adding that the people are quite disillusioned and disenchanted with the government.

The Provincial President decried diversionary tactics being adopted by both the coalition partners to cover up its failures on administrative front. “They are more talking politics and less attending to the woes and problems of the people that has created a  peculiar situation”, he said and referred to various contentious issues raked up by PDP and BJP to satiate their constituencies. He said there seems to no cohesion between the two on important matters of governance. While the people have been left to fend for themselves, the two parties were indulging in real politik to escape responsibility. It appears that the government has lost sense of proportion, as a result of which it is running helter skelter to realise its political fortunes”, he said adding that ill-conceived policies of the coalition government have caused immense disappointment among all segments of society and in all the three regions of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh.Reminding the government of promises made before the elections, the Provincial President asked as to what extra-ordinary has been done to mitigate the sufferings of flood victims, border dwellers or the farmers whose crops have been completely damaged.

“They are still craving for attention, least to speak of getting succour”, he said and cautioned the government not to test patience of people. He and said the time has come when the coalition dispensation must perform lest   the people will be forced to come on the streets to seek justice. Those who were present in the meetings included Sarpanch Din Mohammad, Sarpanch Khurshaid Ali, Sarpanch Mohammad Sadiq, Sarpanch Angrez Singh, Abdul Majeed, Girdhari Lal, Latief, Liaqat, Feroz Din, Seshu, Parvez Malik, Amir-ud-Din Kasana, Shailo Ram, Bansi Lal, Shafail, Razak, Sham Lal Sharma, Devender Singh, Smt.
