Don’t need lessons from him on significance of State Flag’

MLA Langate and AIP President Engineer Rasheed while commenting on the statement by former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah that ‘he and his party is aware of the significance of State Flag and does not need any lessons’ Tuesday termed the same as rhetoric filled with bundle of hypocrisies.Addressing public meetings in Handwara the AIP chief while responding to Omar’s claims, alleged, “His remarks speak of his bankrupt mentality and arrogance. NC doesn’t even deserve the advice as they have brought state to a place where New Delhi is treating J&K like its colony.”“If Omar was aware of the importance of June 7, then why his father, grandfather and he himself didn’t ever celebrate it and never ever bothered to highlight its significance. In contrast to this Farooq Abdullah and Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah sold people of Kashmir for the lust of power and betrayal, sell out, Treachery are hallmarks of Abdullah family. If Omer could tell the people of the state that what name could be given to Sheikh Sahib’s series of surrenders including when he left the power as Prime Minister of State and finally sold his faith and ideology to retain the same as Chief Minister and didn’t hesitated from calling the 22years political struggle political wandering,” he alleged.

Rashid observed that Omar by not commenting on Afzal Guru issue has agreed that “he was responsible for his hanging in same parlance as his father was responsible for hanging of Maqbool Bhat and both acted as collaborators.”“Omar by stating that he is happy that Mufti lead government is not performing has shown his real selfish face as it entails that people’s suffering mean nothing to Omar Abdullah and he has just lust of power for which he can do anything and stoop to such low level,” the MLA Langate said.“”My life is an open book and I don’t need certificates from anyone and nobody on earth can stop him from talking about the political aspirations of Kashmiri people. Restoration of Autonomy doesn’t any way change the status of political dispute of J&K but its restoration will put more pressure on New Delhi to resolve dispute through tripartite talks or UN resolutions,” he said.

Rasheed reminded Omer that it was he and his father who introduced BJP in the state as he was himself a minister in Vajpayee led BJP regime “and there can’t be two BJPs, good and bad one.”“Had National Conference shown some respect towards people’s mandate, it should have broken its ties with BJP led NDA when Autonomy resolution was insulted by the colonial mind set of New Delhi. Let there be no confusion that both PDP and NC have been treating the politics as their proprietor but doing it every time only to add to the miseries if people of J&K,” he added.
