Jamiatul Ulama-e Hind (JUH) and Darul Uloom Rahimya Tuesday jointly offered the ownership rights of the houses to the scores of flood victims, which these two religious organizations had constructed after the devastating September floods.President of Jamiatul Ulama-e Hind (JUH) Maulana Syed Arshad Madni visited Batamaloo and Ikhraj Pora in Srinagar city and besides donating 69 newly constructed houses, he also provided eatables and other items to the flood hit people.“Cheques worth Rs 30 lakhs were distributed amongst small traders (vendors) and 200 auto rickshaws and load carriers were repaired and brought on road so to enable them to start earning their livelihood,” Madni told reporters.

“After the completion of relief work, we started rehabilitation process and we decided to construct huts and houses for those families, whose houses have been razed to ground due to floods,” said Tauseef Ahmad Lone, who overlooks the rehabilitation work.Asked what the source of funding is, he said the Jamiat-e-Ulama-e-Hind is ‘completely financing these constructions’. “They are in direct contact with Maulana Rehmattullah and are extending helping hand. Our Muslim brothers in rest of country are giving money to the Jamiat and they are sending to us,” he said. (CNS)
