Gurezi inspects developmental works in Gurez

Minister of State for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Nazir Ahmad Gurezi has said that Government is committed to provide better basic amenities to the people of all regions of the State. He said that the Government headed by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s focus is to upgrade the socio-economic conditions of the weaker sections of the society. The Minister was addressing a series of public gatherings at Bagtore, Kanzalwon, Dawar and Mastan villages of Tehsil Gurez during his extensive tour today.Recalling the contribution of Sheri-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah, the Minister said that his role for the betterment and welfare of the people will be remembered for ever.

During his 4-Day long tour to the Constituency, the Minister also took stock of various developmental works under execution in these areas besides people’s problems.The Minister also inspected the on-going construction work on Bridge at Mastan village. He directed the executing agencies to gear up their field functionaries and speed up the pace of work on all on-going developmental works under different sectors in the Tehsil and complete them in a stipulated time frame. He directed them to use standard material and there should be no compromise on it. Mr. Gurezi also asked them to use the funds earmarked for any project in full and judiciously.Mr. Gurezi also warned the concerned officers for any delay in completion of projects and asked them any laxity in this regard will not be tolerated at any cost. He said that timely completion of the projects not only ensures the benefits of schemes well in time but also avoids escalation in costs.
