Dr. Jitendra Singh inaugurated Children Summer Workshop

Dr. Jitendra Singh, Minister of State with Independent Charge Ministry of Development of North Eastern region, Minister of State, Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Personal Public Grievances and Pensions, Department of Atomic Energy and Department of Space, Govt of India today inaugurated Children Summer Workshop organized by Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art,Culture and Languages in the foyer of Abhinav Theatre. While speaking on the occasion, Dr. Jitendra Singh hoped that the children coming from various schools and Educational Institutions of Jammu region will learn with zeal and enthusiasm in this 20 day long workshop. He said that Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages is the best option to learn about performing and visual arts i.e Dance, Music, Theatre and Painting as the same is fully equipped with experts in all the components of the said workshop. While appreciating the Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, he said that Academy is doing commendable job by providing platform to the youngsters and catching them at the right time to hunt the hidden talent through such Summer Workshops.

Miss Anjali Sharma, Director, Doordarshan Kendra, Jammu, while speaking on the occasion complimented Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages for organizing Summer workshop during the summer vacations of the educational institutions every year. She further said that J&K Cultural Academy has accelerated the activities and organized large number of programmes not only in the Jammu city but also in rural and remote areas of Jammu region. While welcoming the distinguished guests, Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary said that Children Summer Workshop is organized with the mission to create interest among the youth in the field of Theatre, Music, Dance and Painting. He further said that through such workshops, a child can be motivated and the energy of the youth can be channelized by creating an environment where they can explore their creativity through the medium of visual and performing arts.

Prof Rita Jitendra also spoke on the occasion and blessed the children participating in said workshop. The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Dr. Sudhir Mahajan, Senior Drama Instructor and vote of thanks was presented by Sh. Ashok Gupta,Editor Dogri. It is pertinent to mention that more than 67 children are participating in Painting and 45 children are participating in Theatre workshop. The workshop will be superwised by Dr. Sudhir Mahajan, Senior Drama Instructor assisted by Sh. Sanjeev Gupta, Manager, Abhinav Theatre, Rakesh Kona in Dance, Sh. Bishan Dass in Music and Sh. T.S Batra will instruct the children of Painting workshop.
