Vikar stresses officers for imparting technical education among youth

In order to meet the challenges of unemployment and to develop the technical skills among youth, Minister of state for Technical Education and Power, Vikar Rasool Wani today impressed upon the officers to dedicate themselves for improving the technical education, so that the unemployment problems faced by youth can be addressed.While laying the foundation stone of Poly technical College, the minister said that the talent of the youth has to be refurbished so that they can compete with present market challenges. “The endeavour of the government is to impart training of traditional vocational courses to the youth, so that rather relying on the government jobs they can earn their livelihood without relying on government jobs”, he said.

The Polytechnic college building is coming up at an estimated cost of Rs 15.89 Cr which is spread over an area of 60 Kanals of state land with all modern facilities.He said that the It was due to the efforts made by United Progressive Alliance (UPA) govt particularly the Prime Minister Dr Monmohan Singh that every new district created in Jammu and Kashmir will have a modern Polytechnic college catering the needs of youth and Kulgam will be one among them.

Addressing the students of polytechnic college the minister said that simple degrees won’t mean anything unless you have technical knowledge. Human Resource Development needs technocrats and our dream is to see the students of this college to be the Chief Executive Officers of some reputed multinational companies, he added.Later on he took the review meeting of PDD and rural development officers at rest House Chawalgam and directed them to repair the LT and HT lines in order to reduce the power loss.” The Govt has already released one crore rupees to each district for repairing the transmission lines so that the damage incurred to the life and property could be minimized”, he said

Speaking on the occasion the M.L.A Kulgam M.Y Tarigami expressed his heart felt congratulations to people of Kulgam and highlighted the need of technical education in shaping the future of the new generation. “The burning issue for all is the problem of unemployment everywhere and technical education is the only solution”, he added.On the occasion M.L.A Kulgam made aware the minister about the problems faced by the college and the minister assured Tarigami that all the demands will be fulfilled within stipulated time.
