DDC chairs DLRC meeting at Srinagar

A meeting of District Consultative Committee/District Level Review Committee (DCC/DLRC) was convened today at DC Office Srinagar under the Chairmanship of District Development Commissioner Srinagar, Dr. Farooq Ahmad Lone. The meeting was also attended by AGM RBI and representative of NABARD besides banks and sponsoring agencies operating in District Srinagar.LDM Srinagar informed the forum that at the end March 2015 District Srinagar has disturbed Rs.1834 crores against the target of Rs.1978 crores thus achieved a growth of 93% under priority sector and Rs.3172 crores has been disbursed against the target of Rs.2020 crores registering a growth of 156%.He also said that Rs.81.53 crores have been disbursed among 8841 beneficiaries under various special Central/State Govt. sponsored schemes at the end of March 2015.

District Development Commissioner Srinagar in his inaugural speech reiterated that banks need to increase their credit dispensation in housing/business and tourism sectors as part of their rehabilitation programme which was hit by devastating floods in Sept 2014.He hoped that achievement under these sectors will be encouraging and suggested that we must reach out to people for their benefit which will contribute to the economic development of the society.He appreciated the efforts of Banks with respect of enrolment of people undertwo Social Security Schemes in the Insurance Sector viz., Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) and Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) While taking the review of CD Ratio of Banks operating in district Srinagar, he impressed upon some banks having major presence in the District viz., SBI, PNB and HDFC to improve their CD Ratio by increasing credit dispensation in the district.
