Mehbooba Mufti chairs District Electricity Committee meeting at Pulwama

Provides Rs 20 lakh from MPLAD fund for upgradation of Electric Workshop Shopian

Member Parliament Mehbooba Mufti today reviewed the power supply and infrastructure position in Pulwama and Shopian at a meeting of the District Electricity Committee convened here under her chairpersonship.The meeting was informed that Rs 48.05 crore project is under implementation for various feeders of Pulwama and Shopian districts for renovation of LT and HT lines under Deendayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY) and Integrated Power Distribution System (IPDS) schemes.Speaking at the meeting, Ms Mehbooba announced that Rs 20 lakh will be provided to electrical workshop Shopian from her MPLAD fund for its upgradation. She said two generator sets will be provided to Jamia Masjid Shopian and Jamia Masjid Pulwama from her MPLAD fund to ensure uninterrupted power supply in view of the ensuing holy month of Ramadhan.She directed PDD Engineers to provide electricity to the consumers during Ramadhan without any disturbance.The meeting was attended by MLAs, Deputy Commissioners of Pulwama & Shopian district, and Engineers of Power Development Department.
