Chering Dorjay reviews functioning of Cooperative Deptt

Seeks effective implementation of NCDC Schemes

Minister for Cooperatives  Chering Dorjay today reviewed the functioning of Cooperative Department of Jammu division here at a   meeting of officers.Among others, the meeting was attended by Anjana Tickoo, Additional Registrar Cooperative Societies, Jammu, Viqar Ahmad Giri, General Manager Super Bazar, MD JAKFED, and GM JAKFED.During the course of the meeting, the Minister took a comprehensive assessment of the working of the cooperative sector in Jammu Division.The Minister stressed on laying focus on the effective implementation of various NCDC sponsored schemes. He    exhorted upon the officers to conduct regular field survey and inspection to monitor the working of the cooperative societies. 

The Minister reaffirmed the commitment of the present government to boost the cooperative movement   in view of its huge potential to generate employment through well established and profit generating cooperative societies. He also instructed the field officers to monitor the issuance and sanctioning of KCC cards, disposal of arbitration cases.The Minister also called for conducting regular   administrative inspections at district and block levels, and creating   awareness among the people about the relevance of cooperative movement.Regarding the awareness generation among the people about the Cooperative movement, he said that the issue shall be taken up with the J&K Cooperative Union which is being provided funding by the government for publicity purpose.

 He particularly, stressed on generating awareness regarding the modern techniques and new developments in the cooperative sector. He assured that the present regime shall leave no stone unturned to streamline the functioning of the cooperative sector in the state.The Minister also reviewed the functioning of JAKFED and Super Bazar Jammu. During the detailed review of these institutions, he suggested that work culture and professionalism is required for their revival.The managements of the two institutions were asked to introduce innovative strategies for making them consumer friendly and competitive. He exhorted upon the stakeholders to work hard in order to revive the Cooperative movement.
