Speaker Kavinder Gupta reviews working of Financial, other Committees

Asks chairmen to make their functioning fruitful

Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly  Kavinder Gupta has directed all the chairmen of Financial and other Committees to work with dedication and make the working of their respective committees result oriented.This direction was given by the Speaker here today in a meeting with the Presiding Officers of Financial and other Committees convened to discuss and review the functioning of these Committees.The meeting discussed the working of the committees besides exploring ways and means under Rules of Procedure and conduct of business in the Legislative Assembly for ensuring their effective, expeditious, transparent and result oriented functioning.

Chairman, Committee on Public Undertakings,  Rajiv Jasrotia, Chairman, Committee on Estimate,  Javed Hassan Beigh, Chairman, Committee on Government Assurances, Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen, Chairman, Committee on Environment,  G. M. Saroori, Chairman, Committee on Petitions,  Sham Lal Choudhary, Chairman, Committee on Privileges,  Zahoor Ahmed Mir, Chairman, Committee on Subordinate Legislation,  Bashir Ahmed Dar and Chairman, Ethics Committee, Ch. Qamar Hussain were present on the occasion and gave their suggestions to make these Committees more viable.The Speaker apprised the Chairmen of Committees about the functioning of the Committees and other issues related to the business of the House besides law and regulation. He stressed on close coordination between the members of the committees to make them more vibrant and visible on the ground.Secretary, Legislative Assembly,  Mohammad Ramzan, senior officers and officials of Assembly Secretariat besides officers of concerned Departments attended the meeting.
