Dr. Daljit Singh CheemaPulls Up Schools With Poor Result, Seeks Reports

The Education Minister Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema today came down heavily on such schools of SAS Nagar with a poor performance in the +2 results declared recently. The Minister has directed the school heads to submit detailed report in this regard. He was chairing a meeting of the all Principals of Government Senior Secondary Schools of the SAS Nagar district.The minister at the same time has showered high praise on such schools which had performed exceptionally well by achieving 100% results. Dr. Cheema has decided to award such schools with appreciation letter from the state government. He congratulated school principals of Kurali, Mullapur Garibdas, Lalru, Mubarkpur, Sahora, Sakrula, Sohana and Sialaba for achieving 100% result. The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary Mr. C. Roul, DGSE Mr. Pardeep Aggarwal, DPI (SE) Mr. Balbir Singh Dhol, Additional SPD Dr Ginni Duggal and DEO (SE) Mohali Mr. Mewa Singh Sidhu.

Education Minister expressed serious concern over the decreasing number of students in science stream (medical and non medical). He instructed the school authorities to persuade the students to opt for science stream from 9th class onward. He also issued directions to the senior officers to make arrangement to shift students of such schools having lesser number of science stream to the nearby schools. It was also decided in the meeting that henceforth the subjects would be allotted to the schools as per the requirements of the students.The Minister also directed to repatriate the teachers working in the offices of state head quarter to their parent school in order to improve the overall academic parameters in the states. During the meeting school principals have also raised various kinds of hurdles they have been facing, considering their problems sympathetically directed DGSE, DPI and DEO to personally visit the schools and redresses their problems.
