Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today announced to commemorate the 350th foundation day of Sri Anandpur Sahib as a mega event, for which the eminent personalities from world over should be invited to disseminate its glorious legacy and philosophy in the right perspective on one hand and necessary information and knowledge about the birth place of Khalsa Panth amongst the people living across the globe.Presiding over the first high level meeting to review the arrangements for commemoration of 350th foundation day of Sri Anandpur Sahib here at Chief Minister’s residence this morning, Mr. Badal said that this mega event would be commemorate at Sri Anandpur Sahib from 17-19 June, 2015. He ensured the participation of the distinguished personalities from different walks of life viz. religious, political and social. He also emphasized the need to ensure beautification of Sri Anandpur Sahib and its precincts.   

During the meeting, a high level organizing committee was also constituted under the Chairmanship of Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal for the celebrations of this historic and religious town on its 350th foundation day. The others members of the committee would be Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal, BJP State unit President Mr. Kamal Sharma, Leader of Opposition in Punjab Vidhan Sabha Mr. Sunil Jakhar, Speaker Punjab Vidhan Sabha Dr. Charanjit Singh Atwal, Industries & Commerce Minister Mr. Madam Mohan Mittal, Tourism & Cultural Affairs Minister Mr. Sohan Singh Thandal, Mr. Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa, Mr. Balwinder Singh Bhunder, Prof. Prem Singh Chandumajra and Mr. Ranjit Singh Brahampura (all Parliamentary Members), President SGPC Mr. Avtar Singh, President DSGMC Mr. Manjit Singh GK, Vice Chancellor Punjabi University Dr. Jaspal Singh,  noted historian Prof. Kirpal Singh, Sikh Scholar Mr. Prithipal Singh Kapoor, former MP Mr. Tarlochan Singh, former President SGPC Bibi Jagir Kaur, Chief Khalsa Diwan Chief Mr. Charanjit Singh Chadha, Managing Editor of Ajit Group of Newspapers Dr. Barjinder Singh Hamdard, Dr. Jaswant Singh Neki, Mr. Izhar Alam and Brig. Gagneja. It was also proposed to include few government officers in this committee.

Another five-member supervisory committee has been constituted comprising Member parliament Prof. Prem Singh Chandumajra, Cabinet Ministers Mr. Madan Mohan Mittal, Mr. Sohan Singh Thandal, Special Principal Secretary to CM Mr. KJS Cheema and SGPC member Mr. Amarjit Singh Chawla to oversee the day-to-day arrangements related to the commemoration of this prestigious event.Prominent amongst others who attended the meeting included Member Parliament Prof. Prem Singh Chandumajra, Cabinet Ministers Mr. Madan Mohan Mittal and Mr. Sohan Singh Thandal, President SGPC Mr. Manjit Singh GK, Principal Secretary Finance Mrs. Vinni Mahajan, Principal Secretary Cultural Affairs Mrs. Anajali Bhawra, Special Principal Secretary to CM Mr. KJS Cheema, Director Culture Affairs Mr. Navjotpal Singh Randhawa, VC Punjabi University Patiala Dr. Jaspal Singh, Historian Prof. Kirpal Singh and Mr. Prithipal Singh Kapoor.
