Lakhwinder Kaur Garcha launched a revolt against party

After the announcement of its candidates in the forthcoming Punjab Vidhan Sabha Elections, the Congress party seems to be in trouble. While in Mohali Lakhwinder Kaur Garcha, Former OSD of Former Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh and Member of Congress Election Committee today launched a revolt against party’ decision on allotting tickets giving a challenge to the political career of Balbir Singh Sidhu.Addressing the party workers and supporters in Mohali today Garcha indicated to fight the forthcoming elections as an independent candidate from Mohali accusing congress of neglecting old party workers. To take the final decision on this issue a committee had been formed which would give its decision before 11th January.

In the public meeting the various association leaders and supporters criticized the congress party and assured their support in case Garcha fights the election as an independent candidate from Mohali. Garcha alleged that the value based politics of Congress has changed as it had ignored the dedicated and loyal party workers in the allotment of tickets. While allotting the ticket the consideration seems to be family members rather than the development work done by other party workers, she added.She also lamented that the women leaders have been totally ignored by the government, which always speaks about 33 percent reservation for females. At present only eight percent of the female candidates have been given tickets by the congress party, which shows step motherly treatment towards the female party workers associated from a long time with Congress. 

Garcha also observed that at present not only in Mohali but in entire state party workers have revolted against the ticket allocation by Congress. Further she also alleged the MLA, Balbir Singh Sidhu for not only distributing liquor and drugs to the public but also for unauthorized encroachment of land worth crores of rupees.Giving the indication to fight as an independent candidate in the forthcoming elections Garcha stated that she is against Sidhu and dislikes him not only as a political opponent but on personal front also because during his tenure he has opened many liquor taverns in villages encouraging youngsters to adopt this bad habit of drinking. On the other hand due to these taverns the women are facing lot of problems. Also Sidhu had never shown any concern for his party workers, she added.Also present on the occasion Former district youth Congress President, Paramdeep Singh Baidwan, Former MC President, Harinder Pal Singh Billa, Former Block Congress President, Kuljeet Singh Bedi, and Mohali Property Dealer Association president H S Dhawan encouraged Garcha to fight as an independent candidate from Mohali.
