The Punjab Chief  Minister  Parkash Singh  Badal today thanked the people and voters of the Dhuri assembly constituency for delivering a resounding verdict in favour of the policies , programmes and performance of  the Shiromani Akali Dal-BJP government in  Punjab. Mr Badal also thanked the workers, leaders and office bearers of the SAD and the BJP who worked day and night to carry the positive agenda of the alliance partners and of the government to the people. The Chief Minister said that the massive victory would fill the SAD-BJP alliance and government with even greater commitment to serve our people with humility and dedication in future. “This victory increases our responsibility and we are totally committed to live to the high expectations which people have from us. The faith reposed by them in us will further strengthen our resolve and commitment in this direction.”

Mr Badal said that the Dhuri bye-election result “Truly reflects the mood of the people of Punjab. It shows in a most forceful and categorical manner that the people of the state stand fully behind the policies and programs of SAD-BJP   government in Punjab. It is a powerful mandate in favour of government policies based on a complete commitment to and emphasis on peace, communal harmony, development, progress and prosperity in the state.“The result also puts a decisive end to   the propaganda of negative politics, vilification and cheap sensationalism on the one hand and to the false and hypocritical idealism of some parties to mislead the people on the other”, said the Chief Minister in a statement here this afternoon.

Mr. Badal , who is also the patron-in-chief of the Shiromani Akali Dal, said that the massive margin of the SAD-BJP victory here is  also a clear, categorical and forceful rejection of divisive and opportunist policies of our opponents. He said that the crushing defeat suffered by the Congress   candidate and by the “surrogate candidates of some new outfits” who openly campaigned against and secretly shifted their votes to our opponents’ shows that people have no faith in them.” The Chief Minister predicted that the forceful Dhuri momentum and trend would not only continue  but would become even stronger for the general assembly poll in 2017.  “It is just a trailor and a foretaste of things to come. The writing is clearly on the wall in bold print. Those who do not want to read it must be suffering from willful political blindness (or loss of political sight and foresight).
