36 road projects sanctions for Banihal under PMGSY: Vikar

Minister of state for Technical Education, Power, CA&PD, RDD and Information, Mr. Vikar Rasool Wani today visited various areas of Banihal Constituency to took stock of peoples’ problems of the areas.

During the 2nd day of tour, the Minister visited Senabathi, Gurwati,  Bassan  and Hoochak areas of  block Ramsoo of Banihal tehsil and reviewed the  pace of various developmental activities being carried out under various sector in the area and  addressed a series of public gatherings.Addressing the public gathering at Gurwati, the Minister reiterated the commitment of government for provision of basic amenities to the people especially living in far-off areas of the State, saying that various steps have been initiated in this regard. He said that Banihal constituency has witnessed an era of development during the last five year of regime. He said besides completion of a number of developmental projects, several new projects have been taken into hand in the area.

Referring to provision of road connectivity, Mr. Vikar said that 36 road projects have been sanctioned for Tehsil Banihal under PMGSY. He said several road projects have been completed and work on a number of road projects is going-on full swing to provide road connectivity to the people. He said it would provide easy access to the people and promote trade and commerce activities in the area and help in ameliorating the socio-economic condition of the people of the area.Besides upgradation of existing educational institutions, some new schools have also been opened for extending educational facility at their door-steps to the people of far-flung areas of the tehsil, he maintained. En-route, various deputations and inpiduals called on the Minister and apprised him about the problems being confronted to them.

The Minister issued on-the-spot directions to the officers accompanied to him, for attending to them on priority and their early redressal. He directed Tehsil Supply Officer Banihal for ensuring adequate dumping and supply of ration in Hoochak area for the convenience of the people of the area.The locals projected various demands which include construction of bridges and roads, development of school grounds, upgradation of local school, opening of health centre and anganwari centres,  installation of additional transformers and solar lights, besides provision of adequate power and water supply. Responding to the demands, the Minister assured that their genuine demands would be fulfilled.
