Cable Operator’s suicide : Capt Amarinder warns against political patronage to culprits

Congress Deputy Leader in the Lok Sabha Capt Amarinder Singh today warned against any political patronage to the culprits responsible for driving cable operator Jaswinder Singh Jassi to suicide.Expressing sympathies with the bereaved family, Capt Amarinder in a statement issued here today pointed out, the culprits were connected with the ruling party and the victim had been harassed and persecuted to the extent that he ultimately decided to end his own life.The former Chief Minister pointed out, while the functioning of the Fastway Cables which is patronised by the government was already shady and suspect by eliminating the competitor, they have now started victimising the cable operators.Capt Amarinder warned that 2017 was not that far and when the Congress forms government he will ensure that each and everyone involved is held accountable and brought to the book.Meanwhile, he asked the police to probe the matter without any fear or bias and ensure that the culprits are not only arrested but duly punished so that the victim gets justice.
