KPS celebrates annual day function, Gul says education key to overall dev

The Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Mr. Mubarak Gul today visited Chandanpora Waniyar Safakadal and took stock of the damage caused due to fire incident which occurred in the area yesterday.A team of officers of district administration including District Development Commissioner (DDC), Srinagar, Mr. Farooq Ahmed Shah accompanied the Speaker during his tour.The Speaker gave on the spot directions to DDC to depute a team of officers of Revenue Department to assess the losses damage caused due to fire incident and submit the report to the concerned quarter for sanctioning of necessary relief to the fire suffers.

Gul assured the fire victims that every possible help will be provided by the Government.Earlier, the Speaker attended an annual day function organized by the Kashmir Public School, Nawab Bazar.Prominent citizens, parents, staff, teachers and a large number of students attended the function.Speaking on the occasion,   the Speaker said that education is a key to overall development. He said we should impart education to children in order to prepare them for competitive world and challenges ahead.  He asked the students to give attention towards education, besides participate in co-curricular activities.The Speaker said that the talent is present among the students of the State but need is to channelize it in a proper way so that they can compete at National and International levels. He stressed upon the students to work with dedication to achieve the goal and earn fame the name of their school besides the State and Country.

Responding to the demand of upgradation of infrastructure of the school, Mr. Gul said that a team of engineers will be deputed shortly to formulate estimates for the development of the institution, so that the necessary funds are arranged for the purpose. He announced Rs. 2 lakh out of his Constituency Development Fund for the development of the school.The students of the institutions were presented colourful cultural programme on the occasion.Later, the Speaker distributed prizes and mementos among the meritorious students.
