Chief Minister pays obeisance at Tara Devi Temple

Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh paid obeisance at Tara Devi Temple on the auspicious ‘Navratras’ alongwith Member Parliament Pratiba Singh and Chairman Sports, Culture and Environment Association Shri Vikramaditya Singh near Shimla today. Shri Virbhadra Singh said that Mata Tara Devi temple was an historic temple and local people as well as tourists in large number visit here regularly. He directed the Deputy Commissioner Shimla who is also the Commissioner of Mata Tara Devi Temple Trust to renovate this temple. He directed the Deputy Commissioner to bring proposal to acquire the land adjoing the temple in order to provide more space for the temple complex. He directed the temple officers to maintain proper cleanliness in and around the temple complex. Deputy Commissioner Shimla Shri Dinesh Malhotra welcomed the Chief Minister and said that a master plan has been prepared to beautify the temple complex alongwith plantation which would be sent to the Government for approval. Former MLA Shri Sohan Lal, President Block Congress Committee Shimla (Rural) Shri Cahndershekhar Sharma, former President BCC Shri Roop Lal Shandil, former Chairman Zila Parishad Shimla Shri Satya Dev Sharma, Advisor to Chief Minister Shri T.G. Negi, SDM Rural Shimla Shri Gian Sagar Negi and office bearers & members of Temple Trust were present on the occasion.
