School Named After NRI’s Mother

Maluka Appeals NRIs To Donate Liberally For Upgradation Of Infrastructure In Government Education Institutions

Punjab Education Minister  Sikander Singh Maluka today approved the naming of a government high school in village Hardokhanpur (Hoshiarpur) as Smt. Rukmani Devi Government High School after liberal donation made by NRI Vidya Sagar Aggarwal s/oSmt. Rukmani Devi and Lala Banarsi Dass Aggarwal r/o Toronto, Canada for up gradation of infrastructure in the school. Maluka revealed that the state government has initiated a novel scheme to name any government education institute after your dear ones by paying a certain amount for up gradation of education infrastructure in that particular institute. He informed that under this new scheme a primary school could be named after one’s dear one by donating Rs. 10 lac, a middle school by Rs.20 lac, a senior secondary school by Rs.25 lac and a college by Rs.75 lac. He said that this decision has been taken after considering the requests of number of NRIs who want to get named educational institution at their respective native places after their parents or other dear ones and were willing to donate liberally for up gradation of educational infrastructure.The Education Minister appealed the NRIs to come forward to play proactive role in up gradation of education infrastructure in the state to make Punjab No.1 state on education front in the country.
