CM Presides Over The Seventh Annual Day Function Of The Dashmesh Girls College

Punjab Chief Minister  Parkash Singh Badal today reiterated the firm commitment of the SAD-BJP alliance government to completely transform the education system of the state in the coming years. Addressing the gathering during the Seventh Annual Day function of the Dashmesh Girls College here today, the Chief Minister said that quality education was the key element for ensuring the all round development of the state due to which their government has been laying thrust on providing quality education to the students of Punjab. He further said that today when owing to the modern techniques of communication almost whole of the world has turned into a Global village the state government was fully aware about its responsibility to impart quality education to the students so that they could meet the competition worldwide.  Badal said that the complete rejuvenation of the education system in the state was on the top priority of the SAD-BJP government, for which concerted efforts were being made by them. He said that keeping in view the need to impart quality and modern education to the students their government has kept the education sector on its top priority. The Chief Minister further said that during their previous regime the SAD-BJP government of the state had taken path breaking initiatives for reforming the Education system adding that as a result of these concerted efforts only, Punjab which earlier ranked 14th in the field of education, now stands third in the country.  Badal reiterated that their government was committed to make the state number one in the field of education for which stupendous efforts were being made by them. The Chief Minister pointed out that since independence the state had only 56 colleges but due to the constant efforts made by the alliance government during its pervious regime around 17 new colleges were opened in the state in last one year. He further said that when they had taken over the reigns of the state government there were only four universities in the state but now six new universities have been opened by the government. Likewise he said that the state government has laid special thrust on opening new Polytechnics and Industrial Training Institutes in the state to enable the youth for getting skill training in order to earn their livelihood.  The Chief Minister said that it was due to their vision to develop the state as an education hub that model colleges like Dashmesh Girls College and Central University have came up in Badal and Ghudda villages of the state respectively. He said that all these efforts of the state government are giving fruits as more and more students excelling from these institutes are carving out a niche for themselves in every field of life thus putting the state on the roadmap of education in whole of the world. The Chief Minister exhorted the students and the teachers of the institute to come forward and play a proactive role in ensuring the all round development of the state.  Badal said that the need of the hour is that the teachers and experts imparting education in the Schools, Colleges and Universities should come out of these institutions and make stupendous efforts for giving new direction and education to the students at village level. He said that there was no dearth of capability and skill in the rural areas but the need of the hour was to show them the right path.

On the occasion Principal of the college  SS Sangha read out the report of the college highlighting the achievements of the institute. The Chief Minister was accompanied by his Special Principal Secretary  KJS Cheema.
