Deputy CM Invites Delegation Members To Set Up Korean Cluster In State

A high-level delegation of Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) today called on Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal to explore avenues of investment in the state. The five member delegation led by Kotra’s Director General Mr. Dongseok Choi, Mr. Jinyong Shin, Mr. Wooseong Seo, Mr. Mohinderjit Singh, Mr. Sang Hwan Kim, all Directors, apprised the Deputy CM that the Korean Companies were in favour of investment in Punjab as it has been declared 3rdbest investment destination in the country. Mr. Choi said Korean companies had vast and globally recognized experience in electronic industry and they could explore the possibilities to set up electronic industrial units in Punjab.

Mr. Choi also  invited the Deputy CM along with a delegation of officers from Punjab to an interactive session with the CEOs and MDs of Korean companies.   

Inviting KOTRA for investment in Punjab, Mr. Badal informed the delegation that Punjab had been recognised as  one of the top investment destinations in the country on the basis of world class infrastructure and air connectivity. He said Mohali was emerging as the industrial Hub of Punjab and invited Korean companies to create their own cluster of townships. 

Giving details of the State's new industrial policy, Mr. Badal informed the delegation that Punjab had the country’s most attractive industrial policy. He also informed the delegation that Integrated Check Post at Attari On the border with Pakistan would be a boon for Korean industry in the long run as the border with Pakistan was likely to be opened in the near future. "Then you will have access to all Central Asian countries easily", he added.Prominent among other Principal Secretary Industry Mr. Karan Avtar Singh Principal Secretary to Deputy Chief Minister Mr.P.S. Aujla were present in the meeting.
