Sukhbir Exorts Sad Cadre To Pull Up Sleeves For Civic Elections

Sukhbir Singh Badal President Shiromani Akali Dal and Deputy Chief Minister Punjab today exhorted the party leaders to launch an impressive campaign to gain the historic victory of SAD-BJP alliance in the coming Municipal corporations and Municipal Committee elections. Addressing the meetings of Party office Bearers, Working Committee Members, Political Advisors and General Council Members in Party Head office, Badal congratulated the party cadre for historic victory of alliance in the Vidhan Sabha elections and exhorted them to keep the tempo. He said that Shiromani Akali Dal would contest the municipal elections on the development agenda. Badal said that SAD-BJP alliance was committed to boost up the ongoing development initiative for outstanding development of all the cities and towns of the state within three years. He said that cutting edge leaders must revitalize the cadre at the grassroots level to disseminate this message effectively. He said that mobilization of party cadre at the ground level was imperative to strengthen the party to face various challenges.Earlier the party meeting passed a resolution thanking the people of the state for reposing their faith in the policies of alliance and electing the SAD-BJP government under the able leadership of Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal. The resolution also thanked the Party Patron Parkash Singh Badal, Party President Sukhbir Singh Badal and party cadre for their tireless efforts to ensure historic victory of the party. The resolution also appealed the voters to vote for alliance to ensure the speedy urban development. The resolution also demanded for special economic package from the Centre government besides complete waiver of state debt for overall development of the state.Later replying to media queries, Badal said that as per seat sharing agreement of SAD-BJP alliance the both parties would contest on the same number of seats. He said that all the party candidates would contest on the party symbol. He reiterated the SAD-BJP government commitment of conducting free and fair elections in the state.
