The Punjab Revenue and Public Relations Minister Mr. Bikram Singh Majithia today said that with announcement of Gujarat Chief Minister Mr. Narendra Modi as Prime Ministerial candidate by BJP, the ball was now in the electorates’ court to choose between a visionary leader and a political “novice” in coming general elections. He said that whereas Mr. Modi has a proven track record of taking a major state of the country to next orbit development but on the other Congress was in a fix over projecting Rahul Gandhi for the coveted post of Prime Minister keeping in view his disastrous performance in recent past along with ‘zero’ administrative experience.

Interacting with media persons during the installation ceremony of Tarn Taran Zila Parishad Chairperson Mrs. Rajwant Kaur and Vice Chairman Mr. Amarjit Singh , Mr. Majithia said that the country was passing through a difficult economic situation and Congress led UPA’s all economists have miserably failed in checking this unprecedented slide. He said that the unprecedented devaluation of rupee, total neglect of agri-sector, creation of non conducive atmosphere for industry, large scale unemployment along with no trust of investors, the country needs a decisive leadership. He said that only Mr. Modi has the caliber not only to put back on track the derailed economy of the country and but also to change the course of global economic priorities. He said that on the other hand Rahul, wherever goes for electioneering, the Congress got a sound drubbing. He said that with no administrative experience and no connection with common man, how he can serve the country. He said that the tragedy of Congress led UPA was that all its policies have vested financial interests with no concern for majority of those people, who were struggling for two square meal. He said that the indecisiveness Congress led UPA has cost the country very dearly and results in present economic disaster. He said that only those policies could be successful, which were being made with concern for poor people in the hearts of leaders and the policies chalked with a political mileage in mind succumbs soon. He said that the stage was all set for formation of NDA government in the country and a recent survey has clearly indicated that Congress may struggle to touch even three figures. He said that Shiromani Akali Dal was the first party to show its solidarity with NDA and would make a significant contribution in coming general elections by ensuring clean sweep of SAD-BJP alliance in Punjab. He reminded the people that only with installation of NDA government, Punjab could not only got its rightful due in central taxes but also an additional financial support along with major projects required for the rapid overall development state of the state.

Earlier, speaking on the installation ceremony, Mr. Majithia exhorted the newly elected rural representative to play a proactive role to accomplish the development works of their respective areas and serve the rural population with commitment. He said that the youth have a definite role to play an important role for the overall development with special focus on education, sports and social service in their respective villages leaving behind their local differences to make Punjab a No.1 State in the country. Mr. Harmit Singh Sandhu, Chief Parlimentary Secretary also spoke on the occasion.
