Special Training Programme For Out Of School Children -Maluka

Punjab government has chalked out a special programme to impart special Training to out of school children in the age group of 6 to 14 years. Disclosing this here today, Punjab Education Minister,  Sikandar Singh Maluka said that a total number of 30,939 out of school children were identified and approved for coverage in school under this scheme. Giving more details  Maluka said that 20720 children in the age group of 6 to 7 years were admitted directly in formal schools. He said 6706 out of school children in the age group of 7 to 8 years were covered through school Readiness programme while 7119 out of school children of same age group were directly admitted in the schools. The minister further said that 22456 out of school children in age group of 8 to 14 years were covered under 1894 non residential special training centers while 11236 were admitted directly under this category. He said students who were prepared under this special training programme would be brought in mainstream in the regular schools.
