The cut in funds for healthcare by National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government will be a set back to the progress achieved by the country in this sector, Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad said Friday."I kept fighting to get more allocations for health sector, and it was increased almost by 300 percent. We had sanctioned cancer hospitals, medical colleges... all the work will suffer a setback," Azad, a former health minister, said during an interaction with women journalists at Indian Women Press Corps (IWPC)."We made great progress in cutting the new HIV infections, now that I hear that there will be a significant cut in the budget for fighting HIV/AIDS... I fear we may go back," he said.According to reports, government sources have said healthcare budget may face a cut of 16-17 percent in the revised estimates for the financial year ending March 31, 2015.
