Ram Madhav denies Omar-BJP meet

The Bhartiya Janta Party on Thursday denied reports that its leadership had held discussions with National Conference (NC) working president Omar Abdullah on government formation in Jammu and Kashmir. Talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS) BJP general secretary Ram Madhav said that news about BJP leaders meeting with Omar Abdullah in Delhi was baseless. “There has been no meeting between BJP leadership and Omar Abdullah in New Delhi. The reports are baseless,” he said.

Earlier the news was spread that as part of the formation of government, former chief minister Omar Abdullah met BJP president Amit Shah, finance Minister Arun Jaitley and party general secretary Ram Madhav in Delhi.Reports had said Omar Abdullah has postponed his visit to UK given the rapidly changing political dynamics in the state. However, Omar Abdullah Twittes and denied the report.Meanwhile sources told KNS that BJP indicated that though the verdict could be read against the National Conference, the party did not rule out an alliance if the terms were more suitable. It is to mention here that in the 87-member House, PDP bagged 28 seats, BJP got 25 seats, National Conference 15, Congress 12 and Others 7.
