‘They will have direct access to me’: Altaf Bukhari

After defeating his nearest National Conference rival by over 4000 votes, People’s Democratic Party candidate from Amirakadal Srinagar, Syed Altaf Bukhari Tuesday said he was confident of the win because people had voted in large numbers to watch NC getting decimated from the political map of the state on December 23.

The successful businessperson turned politician told CNS that there are 365 days in a year and he will work for people for 365 days. “I have not won but it is the people who have won. I thank my people for reposing trust and faith in me and I assure them that they will not suffer anymore. Their voice will be heard now and their problems will get redressed in time,” Bukhari said.

While thanking people of Amirakadal constituency for their love and support, Altaf Bukhari said he will enter into Assembly to fight for the interests of people in Amirakadal and he will do that with every breath in his body. “My people especially my supporters and well-wishers are my strength and I will be available for them round the clock,” he said adding that even those who voted against him will be dearer to him.“There will be no discrimination when it will come to the development of any area. Amirakadal constituency needs attention as it was neglected by the previous government. I will try my best to live up to the expectations of my people,” he said. (CNS)
