Bukhari thanks people, workers police, civil administration for smooth elections

‘With PDP’s win, Amirakadal to enter in an era of progress and prosperity’

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senior leader Syed Altaf Bukhari has thanked the people of Amirakadal for a display of wisdom by coming out to vote from in spite of heavy odds including the biting cold.In a statement issued here, Bukhari felicitated the people of his constituency for ‘overwhelming voting in his support’. “I appreciate the resolve of people and the commitment of my workers and want to congratulate people of Amirakadal for showing their wisdom and voting out NC and other candidates on December 14,” Bukhari said while pledging that he will always work for the development of Amirakadal and will side with them in their thick and thin.

Bukhari also acknowledged the hard work of his workers who put in all their blood and sweat in incrementing the voter turnout for ensuring his victory. “I thank all people who came out especially the first time voters who voted for me. I also realize that people of Amirakadal voted despite all invincible perceptions created by their opponents. However, I believe that every vote that was casted in my favour was actually casted for a change. A change that will usher in a new era of progress and prosperity,” Bukhari said while thanking his workers for foiling every provocative attempt that was made by his opposition to prevent increase voter turnout in his favour.

Appreciating the role of administration and police in ensuring a congenial atmosphere for a peaceful polling in entire Srinagar especially in Amirakadal constituency, the PDP senior leader said the trust reposed by the people in him is not only encouraging but will surely be guiding force for carrying forward PDP’s efforts to find a solution to their problems.

The PDP senior leader lauded the role of his young workers for being disciplined and abiding by the Model Code of Conduct on December 14. He said even if at many places in Amirakadal the opponents had tried to prevent voters to cast their vote, the PDP workers hold their nerves showing an exemplary commitment for the rule of law. Bukhari also expressed confidence that with an anticipated comfortable win of PDP in the state his constituency would enter an entirely new era of peace, justice and development. (KNS)
