Asserting that government formation was not the priority of her party, Peoples Democratic Party President and Member Parliament Mehbooba Mufti Monday said that she want all the regions and communities to be part of the change in Jammu and Kashmir."We are thankful to the electorate for giving decisive mandate to PDP in the first four phases of elections held so far in the state but at the same time participation of Jammu region in the new government formation was necessary as only inclusive mandate could bring a meaningful change we all have aspired for", Mehbooba said while addressing a public meeting in support of her party candidate from Gandhi Nagar constituency Amreek Singh Reen.

She claimed that the PDP has emerged not only as an option but the first priority of the people of Kashmir, Chenab Valley, Reasi and Poonch district. “We have not only given a vision to the people and state but our performance in a short span of three years has also inspired people to vote for us’, she said."People are participating in this election to write a new script in the state's political history and the trend shows that they are enthusiastically voting for change," PDP president said adding that the issues of Kashmir and Jammu region are almost identical. “People have voted against a system and against a party which has plunged the state into chaos and confusion’, she said adding that the people in Jammu region will also have to take a decision as what they are voting for. “We want all the regions and communities to be part of this moment to script a new chapter in the history of Jammu and Kashmir”.

She said that the politics based on regionalism, communalism and pision has to end and PDP will be a bridge to realize this objective. “We need your support and vote to ensure that Jammu and Kashmir emerges as an island of peace and prosperity”.Hailing the state administration and the Election Commission, Mehbooba said, "I also express my appreciation for ECI and the state administration for the smooth conduct of the four phase of polls in Jammu and Kashmir with encouraging participation."

The PDP president said it is heartening to note that braving all odds people are participating in the electoral process in respectable numbers not only to vote out the "anarchist" NC-Congress coalition regime, but keep the pisive forces at bay.The PDP has emerged as the "only credible" political force in the state to take up head-on the emerging challenges posed by different forces in the state, she said. "The trends emerging out are a matter of great satisfaction for PDP and, I on behalf of the entire leadership of my party, assure the people that we won't let them down and will do justice with their mandate," Mehbooba said.

Reaching out to the people of Jammu region, she said if voted to power her party will bring the area on the heritage tourism map. “We have vision for all the regions including Jammu. We want Jammu to be an independent tourist destination and an economic hub”, she said. She said that PDP in its election manifesto has especially emphasised on Jammu city so as to develop this historical city as heritage tourism destination.
