Aalam thanks people for ‘overwhelming support’

‘Will directly rush to Khanyar after taking oath to assembly’

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senior leader, Muhammad Khurshid Aalam Monday said the polling in the four phases in  Jammu and Kashmir has established that the people of the state especially in Khanyar constituency have seen through the game of piding their votes to facilitate  foisting a government through intrigue.“The fact that the overwhelming majority of the people came out to vote is an indication that their mission to bring about a change is taking shape on the ground,” he said while addressing party workers at Khanyar here.Aalam said in the past two elections, unfortunately, a group of politicians made themselves available for piding the vote in Kashmir and help promote the inevitability of coalition governments. But, now that the trend throughout the country has swung in favor of strong single party governments the people in Jammu and Kashmir too have decided to bury the unstable coalition culture.He felicitated the people of Khanyar for 'overwhelming voting' for PDP.

“I congratulate people of Khanyar for showing their wisdom and voting out NC and Congress candidates today. I assure them PDP will always work for the development of people of and will side with them in thick and thin. And we congratulate our workers of Khanyar for a victory which by all indications is ours,” Aalam added.“We thank all people who came out and voted for us (PDP). We are aware that people voted for us despite a perception created by some mainstream political opponent forces about their invincibility and inevitability. We treat every vote that we will get as a vote for change. We especially thank our workers who resisted every attempt by opposition to incite violence,” he said.“I reiterate the promises I have made with people of Khanyar and assure that after taking oath to assembly, I will directly rush to my constituency to serve the people,” he added.
