Energy vital input for sustainable economic development: Pranab Mukherjee

President Pranab Mukherjee Sunday described energy as "a vital input for sustainable economic development" and energy efficiency and its conservation as "one of the most cost effective measures to mitigate the environmental impacts of rapid development"."Energy efficiency and its conservation is one of the most cost effective measures to bridge the gap between demand and supply, and to mitigate the environmental impacts of rapid development," the president said in a message here while congratulating winners of the National Energy Conservation Awards 2014."I appreciate the efforts of the ministry of power to promote mainstream energy conservation. I also congratulate all the winners of this year's National Energy Conservation Awards, who have set benchmarks of excellence for other industries to emulate," the president message further added.
