At least seven more children have reportedly died in drought-hit Tharparkar district in Pakistan's Sindh province, taking the unofficial toll this year to 533, media reported Wednesday.Insufficient rainfall and lack of vegetation were major factors that led to the famine situation in the region, causing malnutrition in mothers and leading to health problems among the children and infants. The provincial government has failed to tackle the issue in the drought-hit region of the province. The region continues to face food shortage and the authorities are not responding effectively to the crisis, Ary news reported.
