FIR lodged against Uber, rape accused booked for forgery

A case of cheating and violating lawful orders has been lodged against online cab booking company Uber four days after one of its drivers allegedly raped a 25-year-old business analyst, police said Tuesday.Police also said that the accused has been booked for forgery."A case under the section 420 (cheating) and 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) of the Indian Penal Code was registered at Sarai Rohilla Police Station in north Delhi Tuesday morning," Deputy Commissioner of Police Madhur Verma told IANS.The driver, Shiv Kumar Yadav, raped a 25-year-old business analyst in a cab while dropping her home in north Delhi Friday night. He was arrested Sunday from his native place Mathura in Uttar Pradesh following the recovery of the cab.

Verma said another case of forgery has been slapped against Yadav, Tuesday.The case was registered at north Delhi's Burari police station Tuesday morning against Yadav for submitting forged documents with the Burari Transport Authority to get a tourist permit.A forged character certificate purportedly issued by Delhi Police was also found from his possession Monday.
