Punjab to hold grievance resolution meets for NRIs

The Punjab government has decided to hold three 'Sangat Darshans' for Non-resident Indians (NRIs) in Moga, Jalandhar and Ludhiana to redress their grievances, a minister said Wednesday.Punjab's NRI Affairs Minister Tota Singh said that Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal would preside over these Sangat Darshans.The Sangat Darshans would be held at Moga (Dec 28, 2014), Jalandhar (Jan 16, 2015) and Ludhiana (Jan 17, 2015).The minister said that NRIs belonging to Moga, Ferozepur, Fazilka, Muktsar, Bathinda, Mansa and Barnala districts were being invited for these camps at Moga town.NRIs from Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Hoshiarpur, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Gurdaspur and Pathankot districts would be called to Jalandhar, and those from Ludhiana, Nawanshahr, Rupnagar, Mohali, Patiala, Fatehgarh Sahib and Sangrur would be called to Ludhiana for resolution of their grievances.

An email address nripunjab014@gmail.com has been created to receive the complaints or problems of NRIs well in advance by Dec 15, so that required information or action could be taken and concerned officers would remain available on the occasion.""Participating NRIs to bring their passports/OCI/PIO/NRP cards as their identity proofs," the minister said."The Punjab government is committed to strengthen the bond with Punjabis living across the globe, besides making them a partner in state's overall development," Tota Singh said.
