NC congratulate voters on high turnout

NC Spokesman Junaid Azim Mattu Wednesday claimed that National Conference was buoyed and encouraged by the high-turnout in the first phase of elections in the State and said that this was a clear-cut indication of a positive groundswell of support for National Conference at a very crucial juncture in the history of the State.

“We want to congratulate the people of our State for the high-turnout and we want people to understand that this is a very unambiguous expression of unity and political wisdom by the people of J&K. From the ground-reports that we are getting, it has become clear that not only has our grassroots cadre scripted a historic performance in the areas that went to polls in the first phase but the brave people of our State have united, despite the differences in their views and converged in our fight to protect our State against a conquest that has been launched to not only humiliate our people but also rob them of their sense of dignity and pride”, the NC Spokesman said.

He said that the party was expecting an even higher turnout in the remaining phases of the elections and was confident of a historic performance in all three regions of the State. “To those who started their armchair analysis and verdicts months before these elections, the election results will be a big surprise and National Conference will not only retain its position of strength and supremacy in J&K’s politics but will also increase its tally exponentially in certain areas”, Mattu added.

“This is also a triumph of democracy and the faith invested by the youth in the democratic process is a vindication of the efforts of National Conference in giving hope to our people and giving them an incentive to be a part of a system where they elect their representatives. Due to our sustained efforts and due to a tenure of good governance, transparency and accountability – the people of the State have reposed their faith in the democratic institutions of the State” the NC Spokesman further added.

The NC Spokesman lashed out at political detractors and proxies of pisive forces and said that this motley crew of opportunists was trying its best to sell of every inch of J&K for their own personal ambitions. However, the NC Spokesman said, the high turnout and the reiteration of faith by people in National Conference has dismantled their day-dreams and has further empowered the State’s voice of political integrity and dignity.
