BJP’s statements on Article 370 dangerous: Farooq Abdullah

‘People should unite and support NC at this juncture’

Stating that the statements of BJP leadership regarding the revocation of Article 370 are dangerous and unfortunate, President J&K National Conference Dr. Farooq Abdullah has cautioned voters to cast their votes wisely in the ongoing elections.In a statement to KNS Farooq appealed the voters across Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh regions to cast their votes wisely keeping in mind the progressive and prosperous six years of Omar Abdullah’s government.“I appeal people to vote for their National Conference candidates and make them victorious with a huge margin so that we could stand resolutely between political marauders and the interests of J&K,” he said.

He cautioned that the revocation of article 370 will weaken the integrity of the country and pose a serious threat to the peace in state.“The statements are unfortunate and worrying. The BJP leaders should take caution before issuing such statements. Article 370 is an issue of life and death for the Kashmiri people,” he cautioned.Referring to the recent contentious statements of BJP leaders about the revocation of article 370 from the state, Dr. Farooq said, late Sheikh Abdullah, a visionary leader of Kashmir had sensed in his early days of politics that government of India will work hard to create politicians from every home in Kashmir so that to curb the genuine voice of the people here.

“He (Sheikh Abdullah) had sensed very early that leaders and political parties will be created from every home so as to create confusion among the people, the example of which we are seeing today,” Dr. Farooq said.Article 370 is the foundation and basis of the relationship between the state and the rest of country and no power in the world can revoke it, Dr. Farooq said.
