Senior National Conference leader, sitting MLA and NC candidate from Handwara Assembly Constituency, Chaudhary Mohammad Ramzan has lashed out at those for-sale political entities which had gone from being moral sermonizers to the willing puppets of the Saffron Brigade. In a statement Chaudhary Ramzan said that these inpiduals had changed more political stands in their life than anyone else and are now trying to do the betting of BJP in Kupwara District. The NC leader addressed various public meetings in Handwara. “These political mercenaries who have wavered in their basic political ideology numerous times till now are now out to sell the liberties, interests and pride of the people of Kupwara to their new masters in Nagpur and New Delhi. These are the same political mercenaries who used to wax eloquent in talking about Kashmiri Nationalism on TV channels. Today the same for-hire actors are busy being at the beck and call of those in Delhi who have clearly announced their intentions to abrogate Article 370. This in a microcosm represents the tragedy of our State – where thousands of young men went to their graves while those who beckoned and manipulated them are today darling of BJP and RSS”, Ramzan said while addressing various public meetings in Handwara.

He said that PDP on the other hand was constantly tripping over regular contradictions and disparities between their deeds and their words. “Today Mufti Sayeed talks about ‘healing touch’. This is the same Mufti Sayeed who as the Home Minister of India orchestrated numerous massacres in Kashmir including the barbaric Handwara massacre – the memories of a tragedy that we have not and will not forget. The same Mufti Sayeed is now pretending to be our sympathizer. PDP should know that it will pay a heavy price in the coming elections for its dreaded, questionable past”, the NC leader said.

Ramzan said that PDP had fielded corrupt, indicted and convicted ‘corruption specialists’ as candidates in the coming elections and was a party that had managed to drown the State into the morass of corruption during their brief stint in the government. “From ration thieves to urea thieves to a string of the State’s most corrupt bureaucrats – PDP has become a bouquet of corruption. Not only will PDP face a humiliating defeat from Kupwara District but the party will also face the wrath of the people, especially the youth in all regions of the State”, he added.
