R&B Minister Abdul Majid Wani, today, was given warm welcome in village Bhagla, Dulyog, Chiltran, Bhandas, Seal and Kalihand where few workers of BJP and NC joined Congress party.Addressing gatherings of people Wani said that people of Doda constituency are today fully empowered and they are proud citizens as their brethrens in other parts of the country. This could be possible, only, with his hard work and support of Ghulam Nabi Azad and other leaders at centre during UPA-I and UPA-II. Prior to 2002, people of Doda were forgotten souls with the minimum indices of living; even basic infrastructural facilities including basic civic amenities including sufficient schools, health centers, safe hygienic drinking water facilities and road connectivity were at their minimal. Condition of people living in far flung rural areas was the worst.
Majid Wani said that after getting elected as MLA from Doda constituency during year 2002 assembly elections, it remained my mission to work day and night for providing not only the best civic amenities but also to get sanctioned major infrastructural projects for Doda.
Today, Doda is on the path of growth, development and prosperity. People are fully empowered with establishment of successful Panchayati Raj system and creation of new tehsils, niabats and blocks. By grace of God, I also met successfully another big challenge of bringing peace in Doda and got restored communal harmony among hinds and muslims. Today they live peacefully like brothers and sisters despite of a number of unsuccessful attempts made by communal parties including BJP, PDP and NC. In fact, people of Doda constituency have witnessed a revolution during last one decade with opening of a medical college, trauma hospital, new district hospital building, sports stadium, new degree colleges, a number of new higher secondary schools and hundreds of new primary schools opened up during this period. With commissioning of a number of major water supply schemes, people getting safe & hygienic drinking water, new ration stores have been opened up even in far flung areas. The whole constituency, today, is connected through a network of roads and bridges.
Abdul Majid Wani, further, said that now his main focus shall be only to make vast untouched valleys of Doda constituency among the best tourist destinations in J&K state. He has already taken a long leap to achieve this mission by getting sanctioned new tourist development authorities, an alternative national highway connecting Chennani with Anantnag via Marmat and Dessa in Doda and sanctioning of Sudh Mahadev Goha and Dessa Capran tunnels. Batote Doda Kishtwar Sinthan top highway has been got transferred from GRIF to the state R&B department which will generate vast employment opportunities for local youth.
Majid Wani said that few forces are, hell, bent upon to polarize our society on the lines of religion and caste. I warn such forces to desist from their misdeeds and keep this thing in their vicious minds that people of Doda, this time also, teach them a great lesson and repel their malicious designs with a great force by casting their votes in favour of Abdul Majid Wani.Others who also addressed the public meetings were Gadhi leader Girdhari Lal, Naseer Ahmad Sarpanch, Naib Sarpanch Ram Rattan, Swami Raj, Ishtiaq Beig, Irshad Ahmad Misgar, Vishal Bhagat, Najib–ur-Rehman Fani, Suraj Parkash, Aadil Karim Wani, Amir Karim Wani and Janazeib.
