‘NC, PDP exploit people using false promises, formulae’

Democratic Party Nationalist (DPN) president and agriculture minister Ghulam Hassan Mir Sunday begun poll campaign by holding a public rally at Goigam village here.Addressing people he called for an end to dynasty rule in from Jammu and Kashmir. “Common people have suffered in the times of family rule. Now the time has come when people should reject such politics to flourish the politics of commoners,” he said.“Earlier some parties were formed on humanitarian grounds. However, they turned nothing more than exploiters of people using false promises and formulae,” Mir said while hitting out at National Conference and People’s Democratic Party.He said both these parties brought new formulae to attract people and win in elections. “However, people have witnessed themselves who is the real well wisher of people.”DPN leader said that PDP played a gimmick of healing touch formulae. “In reality their leaders encourage forces to kill people,” he alleged.While referring to the counter-insurgent STF, Mir said only Gulmarg constituency had been freed from them. “This force still exists and flourishes under different names in all those constituencies which have PDP MLAs,” he said.

Mir said that he had worked for strengthening the democratic institutions and has advocated peace all along his political career which is imperative for prosperity and development of the state.“Economic independence is necessary for over all prosperity and development of the State.”He appealed the people to extend their cooperation for over all development of the State. He said he has always worked for welfare and prosperity of the people even while in power or out of power and reiterated to work with the same zeal and zest in future also. Mir said that he has always condemned the violence and advocated for peace, adding that peace is primary requirement for prosperity and development.

 The Minister said some elements are trying to create a wedge between him and people, but they will not succeed and would have to eat a humble pie when truth comes to fore.  “My personal and political life is an open book,” he said. “Love and confidence I have received from the people is precious for me. I will leave no stone unturned to live upto the expectations of the people, especially the people of Tangmarg” he added.Mir also demanded abolishment of present ration distribution system card system in Kashmir and said that ration should be available at the ration ghats without any hiccups to a common man.While expressing concern over the problems related to basic amenities of the people, Mir said that despite Election Commission directions that the routine works should go on, the administration has taken refuge in the Model Code of Conduct. “It has also affected the rehabilitation of flood victims besides resulting in great inconvenience to the people in general,” he added.
