The Punjab Government has chalked out a specific program to root-out the problems of barrenness in milch cattles by spending Rs. 3.97 crores to provide Area Specific Mineral Mixture (nutritious fodder).Disclosing this here today  Gulzar Singh Ranike, Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Minister, Punjab said that the Punjab Government would provide nutritious fodder on 20% subsidy on per kilogram, which would be prepare according to the need of the different areas of the state. He said that the nutritious fodder would be made available through out Punjab to prevent the barrenness in the milch cattles.  Ranike said that the Punjab Government has imported 5,000 injections to prevent the breed of he-calves besides initiating programs to reduce unnecessary expenditures on dairy farming. He said that the imported vaccinations would be provided on 50% subsidy, which would be helpful to breed only she-calves.The Minister said that the State Government has already issued directions to the Animal Husbandry Department to ensure the availability of necessary medicines for the milch animals and these should be delivered to the dairy farmers through organizations working in the field of Dairy Development.
