National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Veteran Leader Sheikh Nazir Ahmed have paid glowing tributes to noted literary figure, poet and scholar Amin Kamil who passed away in Jammu after a brief illness.Lauding Amin Kamil's work as a scholar and noteworthy literary figure, Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Sheikh Nazir Ahmed have said that they had the honor and privilege of being taught by Late Kamil during their college days at S. P. College.

In a message, NC President Dr. Farooq Abdullah has extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and said that in Kamil's demise the State had lost a towering scholar whose contribution in nurturing Kashmiri language, culture and prose is unparalleled and would be remembered for ages to come.Veteran NC Leader Sheikh Nazir Ahmed has said that Amin Kamil was a dedicated son of the soil who toiled hard to groom hundreds if not thousands of students of literature during a career that was marked by honesty and dedication. Sheikh Nazir said that Amin Kamil's legacy would live on in his critically acclaimed works of literature that form an integral part of J&K's cultural and linguistic assets.
