Hurriyat (M) leaders congratulate Mirwaiz

The Hurriyat Conference (M) leadership has expressed happiness over the inclusion of irs chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in the list of the world’s 500 Most Influential Muslims for 2014-15 by the prestigious Royal Islamic Strategic Studies Centre (RISSC), Jordan.In a statement a spokesperson of the conglomerate said all the constituents and the people of Kashmir have expressed their satisfaction over the fact that the world has practically acknowledged the struggle for right to self determination of the people of J&K led by the Mirwaiz.

They said that Mirwaiz’s political, social and religious contributions were being recognized on international level and that is why Mirwaiz was the right choice for being awarded as the one of the most influential Muslim leader around the world. They further said that they were proud of Mirwaiz and his contributions to the freedom struggle.

Meanwhile, a high level delegation of Shri Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee Amritsar Punjab (SGPC) met Mirwaiz at his Nigeen residence. The participants in the delegation included SGPC Secretary, Daljeet Singh Bedi Ji, Sardar Jageet Singh Jagi Ji and Sardar Lucky Singh Ji. While discussing the Kashmir situation and the flood aftermath with Mirwaiz, the delegates also brought relief material to be distributed among the flood victims. Media advisor to Hurriyat, Advocate Shahid-ul-Islam and others were also present during the meeting.

On the occasion, Mirwaiz also paid glowing tributes to SGPC President, Sardar Avtaar Singh Ji Makkar, Secretary Daljeet Singh Bedi Ji, Sardar Parmindar Singh Ji and other members of unit for establishing relief camp at Gurdwara Shaheed Banga Sahab Barzulla Baghat and providing a helping hand to the needy during the devastating floods.
