‘People want Azadi from NC’s turbulent rule’

Slamming the national conference over its remarks on postponing of the state elections, PDD leader and party candidate Mohammad Khurshid Alam Friday stated the party blackmailing the Election Commission.In a statement issued to press here, Alam stated that people of the state and particularly of Srinagar want Azadi from the turbulent NC regime which has only added miseries in people’s lives.

He stated that the statement of the chief minister Omar Abdullah wherein he stressed for the delay in conduction of the state elections- fearing the percentage would be low- is tantamount to black mailing of the independent and credible institution.

The PDP leader remarked that the NC government failed completely on ground in terms of relief and rehabilitation of the flood victims in valley with the preference being given to the transfers and promotions of blue-eyed officials. “People were expecting this regime at least to deliver on ground at this hour of crises. But it failed even at present and carried forward its own traditional agenda of nepotism, partiality and favoritism.”He added that when cabinet was expected to take people friendly measures, it undermined the ground veracity, NC continued its stand on nourishing its blue- eyed people.

 Alam maintained that the ground situation is enough to reflect the failure of the NC government as its ministers and leaders were busy in filling their own coffers at the time when people had to take shelter in tents.He added that people of Srinagar are much perturbed with the continuation of the NC rule that every street here reverberates the slogan of ‘Go NC Go’. Alam said that people now are desperately waiting for the dawn of freedom from NC rule to emerge so that tranquility could prevail in the troubled land.
