State economic reconstruction forum (SERF) blame state government being disoriented after the flood hit in Kashmir and its efforts are directionless and disorganized. In a press conference at a hotel in Srinagar SERF raised various points of relief and rehabilitation. SERF told reporters that they have made a coordination committee which consists of members from various associations so that all can keep a good seek on the funds and rehabilitation from the state government. They added that because of the lack of facilities from the state government a common man are on roads as its has been more than six weeks after flood hit in Kashmir and government has not made any fruit full decision yet. Serf also said that the tourism sector may not fall under the governments definition of being flood affected but this industry has also borne the brunt of the disaster both directly and indirectly.

“We reiterate our demands for reversal of all interests charged on loan accounts for the period of September 2014. The banks also have to revisit the interest charged on adhoc / overdraft accounts. The banks are one of the most important institutions in this crisis and have a vital role to play. They need to adopt a compassionate and generous policy towards the needy,” Dr Mubeen shah (secretary coordination committee) said. They also demanded that government must allow the international aid so that affected people will be helped.
