Prof. Saifudin Soz tours South Kashmir’s flood affected areas

Prof. Saifudin Soz President J&K Pradesh Congress Committee toured Thrisal, Chittelpora (Rajpur Constituency; Kihgam, Berthipor, Vishaw, Narpora, Bohri Hallan (Shopian Constituency); Imam Sahib, Zainpora Wachi and Melhora (Wachi Constituency); till late last night. He was accompanied by G. A. Mir, Minister for Tourism, Mohd Anwar Bhat Vice President JK PCC, Hilal Ahmad Shah Org. Secretary JK PCC, Nazir Ahmad Shah District President Shopian, Mushtaq Ahmad Khanday, Gulam Hassan Khan Ex. Minster, Abdul Qayoom Shah, Fayaz Ahmad Dar and Maroof Ahmad Wani.Prof. Soz and G. A. Mir met many large delegations of the people, particularly the flood sufferers. Prof. Soz saw the ravages of the recent floods and expressed his concern for relief and rehabilitation of the flood victims.

Prof. Soz told the people in detail Congress Party had viewed the situation and had decided to remain with the people steadfast in this hour of misery. He also assured them that he and his Party was determined to ensure proper relief and rehabilitation. Prof. Soz expressed anguish as the delivery of compensation for the damage was getting delayed due to the fact that the Central Government had not decided to accept the package required by the State Govt.Prof. Soz also assured the people that Smt. Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi were deeply interested in early rehabilitation of flood victims in J&K State. Prof. Soz further explained to the people that the Congress Party would provide technically correct and workable inputs to the State Government and the Central Government for a long-term plan to save the state, particularly low lying areas in Kashmir valley from floods in future.
