PDP likely to nominate Molvi Abid Ansari as its candidate from Pattan constituency

After the demise of noted Shia cleric and vice president PDP Molvi Iftikhar Hussian Ansari, the party is likely to nominate his brother Molvi Abid Ansari from Pattan constituency.The formal announcement is likely to be made within few days. Sources in the PDP told KNS that Molvi Abid Ansari is a known figure among the Shia community and was handling the socio-political affairs in his deceased brother’s constituency Pattan.Sources added that the PDP leadership has made its mind that Abid Ansari has the capability to united the his own community and garner the requisite support for a comfortable win for PDP.  “After the demise of his elder brother, the fans and followers of late Iftikhar Hussian Ansari have pinned all their hopes on the sons of Molvi sahib and particularly they want Molvi Abid to represent them in the assembly now,” a senior supporter of late Iftikhar Hussain Ansari told KNS.
