Six injured in Pakistan firing in Jammu and Kashmir

At least six people were injured after Pakistan opened fire on Indian positions on the line of control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district, government sources said Friday."Six civilians sustained injuries after the Pakistan Army resorted to unprovoked firing at Indian positions on the LoC in Poonch district yesterday (Thursday)," a senior administration official told IANS in Jammu.The Pakistan Army used mortar shells to target Indian positions. Six houses were also damaged in the firing, state government sources said. Of the six injured, two with serious splinter injuries were referred for specialised treatment in the Poonch district hospital.Army spokesperson Colonel Manish Mehta confirmed the ceasefire violation by the Pakistan Army and said that small arms and automatic weapons were used in the firing."Our troops retaliated with same calibre weapons," the spokesperson said.
