Govt. deliberately pushing Kashmiris to starvation: Shabir Shah

Hurriyat Conference Jammu Kashmir leader and chairman Democratic Freedom Party Shabir Ahmad Shah while continuing his visit to flood areas of Srinagar Friday expressed concern over the ‘sluggish’ approach adopted by state administration in tacking the flood-aftermath situation.“On one hand, government has failed to resolve the issues of flood-hit people and on other, is becoming hurdle for them in receiving of aid from world community,” Shah while visiting the areas of Batamaloo, Habba Kadal, Kani Kadal, Tankipora and Guru Bazar.He said it is obvious that Govt. deliberately push the people of Kashmiri to death. “Without the assistance of international community, it is impossible for us to recuperate the loss suffered due to floods,” statement quoting Shah said.Holding concern over slow-moving attitude of government, Shah said if water from flood-hit areas is not drained out on time, it will give rise to various diseases.
Shabir Ahmad Shah reiterated his appeal to pro-freedom leadership to create awareness regarding the flood devastation in Kashmir among international community, “otherwise we will continue to suffer for long.” (KNS)
