Yudhvir Sethi inaugurates two public toilets complexes worth Rs 15 lakh in Jammu East

Continuing efforts to strengthen civic infrastructure and promote cleanliness, MLA Jammu East Yudhvir Sethi on Friday inaugurated two newly constructed public toilets under the Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0 at Raghunath Bazar and Panjtirthi with the estimated cost of Rs 15 lakh, reaffirming his commitment to creating a cleaner and healthier Jammu East.

The first facility was inaugurated near Gurudwara Surinder Singh, Raghunath Bazar, Ward No. 15, while the second was dedicated to the public near Atal Chowk, Panjtirthi. Both projects have been developed to provide clean, hygienic and convenient sanitation facilities for residents, devotees, commuters and visitors.

The public toilets have been constructed under the Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0 by Aryabhat Seva Sansthan in collaboration of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), ensuring proper upkeep and continuous availability of services.

MLA Jammu East Yudhvir Sethi was accompanied by Executive Engineer, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Lokesh Gupta, along with other officials and local representatives and BJP Karykartas Ramesh Gupta, Adarsh Jathiar, Govind Sareen, Gopal Kumar, Vikram Singh, Ved Padha, Rajesh Bali, Jeevan Singh, Sunita Didwal, Sunita Sharma and Suraj Singh during the inauguration of the two public toilet complexes.

Speaking on the occasion, Yudhvir Sethi said, "Cleanliness is not merely a civic responsibility but a shared commitment towards building a healthy and progressive society. These public toilet facilities will greatly benefit residents, pilgrims, shoppers and tourists by providing safe, hygienic and accessible amenities at key public locations."

He added that the Swachh Bharat Mission has transformed the country's sanitation landscape and that Jammu East is witnessing sustained improvements in civic infrastructure through such people-centric initiatives. "Our vision is to make Jammu East cleaner, healthier and more citizen-friendly by strengthening basic infrastructure and ensuring quality public amenities.

We will continue to work towards improving sanitation, hygiene and public convenience across every ward," Sethi said. Local residents, traders and members of civil society welcomed the inauguration, stating that the new facilities would significantly improve public hygiene in two of the city's busiest areas, which witness a large daily footfall of devotees, shoppers and commuters.

The inauguration forms part of the ongoing efforts to upgrade civic amenities across Jammu East under the Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0. The newly established facilities are expected to contribute to improved sanitation standards, enhance the overall visitor experience and support the broader objective of maintaining a clean, healthy and sustainable urban environment.
